From Friday the 20th of January 2023, the African National Congress Free State was in mission to embark with 9th Provincial Conference. It got delayed due to some challenges but on Saturday everything was settled and it went underway.

The Chairperson of the African National Congress and Minister of The department of Energy and mineral resources Gwede Mantashe opened the conference and yesterday president Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa arrived in Bloemfontein, Free State to deliver the Closing Address at the 9th Provincial Conference taking place under the theme: The Year of Decisive Action to Advance the People’s Interests and Renew our Movement.

In his arrival he found the newly elected African National Congress Free State leadership together with deployed African National Congress National Executive Committee waiting for him outside.

Former Executive mayor of the city of Ekurhuleni Mzwandile Masina, Former Premier of Gauteng province David Makhura and others were present as ANC NEC members.

Mzwandile Masina was not see that happy. In December 2022 during conference he was supporting Dr Zwelithini Mkhize not president Ramaphosa and that could be the reason.
